REMOVAL

CAUTION:

1. TABLE OF BOLT, SCREW AND NUT

HINT:

All bolts, screws and nuts relevant to installing and removing the instrument panel are shown along with their alphabet codes in the table below.

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:

Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

NOTICE:

When disconnecting the cable some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected INTRODUCTION: REPAIR INSTRUCTION: INITIALIZATION (2008 Sequoia) .

3. REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEMS: STEERING PAD: REMOVAL (2008 Sequoia)+

4. REMOVE LOWER NO. 3 STEERING WHEEL COVER SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEMS: STEERING PAD: REMOVAL (2008 Sequoia)+

5. REMOVE STEERING PAD SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEMS: STEERING PAD: REMOVAL (2008 Sequoia)+

11. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH INTERIOR PANELS / TRIM: ROOF HEADLINING: REMOVAL (2008 Sequoia)+

12. SEPARATE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH

(a) Separate the front door opening trim weatherstrip LH.

13. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH INTERIOR PANELS / TRIM: ROOF HEADLINING: REMOVAL (2008 Sequoia)+

14. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH

(a) Apply protective tape, as shown in the illustration.

(b) Using a moulding remover, disengage the 3 claws and 4 guides and remove the side panel.

15. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY DOOR / HATCH: HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY: REMOVAL (2008 Sequoia)+

16. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY LH



(a) Remove the 2 <A> bolts.

(b) Disengage the 4 clips and claw.

(c) Disengage the 2 claws and separate the sensor.

(d) Disconnect the connectors and remove the finish panel.

17. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY INTERIOR PANELS / TRIM: FRONT CONSOLE BOX: REMOVAL (2008 Sequoia)+

18. REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY INTERIOR PANELS / TRIM: FRONT CONSOLE BOX: REMOVAL (2008 Sequoia)+

24. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY



(a) Disengage the 4 claws and separate the instrument panel finish panel retainer.

(b) Disconnect the 2 connectors and clamp.

(c) Disengage the 12 clips and remove the finish panel.

25. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY METER / GAUGE / DISPLAY: COMBINATION METER: REMOVAL (2008 Sequoia)+

26. REMOVE CENTER LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL

(a) Disengage the 4 clips and 2 claws.

(b) Disconnect the connectors and remove the finish panel.

27. REMOVE INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY HEATING / AIR CONDITIONING: AIR CONDITIONING PANEL: REMOVAL (2008 Sequoia)+

28. REMOVE RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET (w/ Radio Receiver) AUDIO / VIDEO: RADIO RECEIVER: REMOVAL (2008 Sequoia)+

29. REMOVE NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET (w/ Navigation System) NAVIGATION / MULTI INFO DISPLAY: NAVIGATION RECEIVER: REMOVAL (2008 Sequoia)+

30. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL RH

(a) Apply protective tape, as shown in the illustration.

(b) Using a moulding remover, disengage the 3 claws and 3 guides and remove the side panel.

33. SEPARATE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH

(a) Separate the front door opening trim weatherstrip RH.

35. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY



(a) Disengage the 4 claws and 2 guides and remove the under cover.

36. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY RH



(a) Remove the bolt <A> and 3 <D> screws.

(b) Disengage the 4 claws and remove the finish panel.

37. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL BOX DOOR SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 6 <B> screws.

(b) Disengage the clip and remove the box door.

38. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY



(a) Using a moulding remover, disengage the 4 clips and claw, and remove the speaker panel.

(a) Using a moulding remover, disengage the 4 clips, claw, and remove the speaker panel.

(a) Using a moulding remover, disengage the 6 clips, 2 claws, and remove the speaker panel.

44. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY (for 14 Speakers)

45. REMOVE SEAT TRACK INNER COVER RH (for 14 Speakers) SEAT: FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY (for Power Seat): REMOVAL (2008 Sequoia)+

46. REMOVE SEAT TRACK OUTER COVER RH (for 14 Speakers) SEAT: FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY (for Power Seat): REMOVAL (2008 Sequoia)+

50. REMOVE REAR NO. 4 AIR DUCT (for 14 Speakers) HEATING / AIR CONDITIONING: FRONT AIR CONDITIONING UNIT: REMOVAL (2008 Sequoia)+

51. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD INSERT



(a) Remove the 4 <A> bolts.

(b) Disengage the 2 claws.

(c) Disconnect the connector and clamp and remove the safety pad insert.

52. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 14 Speakers)



(a) Slide the slider and disconnect the airbag connector.

(b) Disengage the clamps and disconnect the connectors.

(c) Remove the bolt and separate the wire harness.



(d) Remove the 2 <F> passenger airbag bolts.

(e) Remove the 3 <C> bolts and 2 <E> nuts.



(f) Disengage the 5 claws and remove the instrument panel.

53. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 8 Speakers)

(a) Slide the slider and disconnect the airbag connector.

(b) Disengage the clamps and disconnect the connectors.

(c) Remove the bolt and separate the wire harness.



(d) Remove the 2 <F> passenger airbag bolts.

(e) Remove the 3 <C> bolts and 2 <E> nuts.



(f) Disengage the 5 claws and remove the instrument panel.

54. REMOVE NO. 3 INSTRUMENT PANEL STAY

(a) Disengage the 5 claws and remove the 5 stays.

55. REMOVE GLOVE BOX LIGHT ASSEMBLY



(a) Disengage the 2 claws and remove the glove box light.

56. REMOVE NO. 1 HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT

(a) Disengage the clamp.

(b) Remove the 5 screws and duct.

57. REMOVE NO. 1 SIDE DEFROSTER NOZZLE DUCT



(a) Remove the 2 screws.

(b) Disengage the 2 claws and remove the duct.

58. REMOVE NO. 2 SIDE DEFROSTER NOZZLE DUCT



(a) Remove the 2 screws.

(b) Disengage the 2 claws and remove the duct.

59. REMOVE DEFROSTER NOZZLE ASSEMBLY



(a) Remove the 3 screws and the defroster nozzle.

60. REMOVE NO. 4 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY



(a) Remove the 3 screws and the register.

61. REMOVE NO. 3 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY



(a) Remove the 3 screws and the register.

62. REMOVE NAVIGATION ANTENNA ASSEMBLY (w/ Navigation System) NAVIGATION / MULTI INFO DISPLAY: NAVIGATION ANTENNA: REMOVAL (2008 Sequoia)+

63. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE

(a) Disconnect the 2 connectors.

(b) Disengage the clamps and remove the instrument panel wire.

64. REMOVE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEMS: FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY: REMOVAL (2008 Sequoia)+

65. REMOVE ACCESSORY METER ASSEMBLY



(a) Remove the 3 screws and accessory meter.

66. REMOVE AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SENSOR



(a) Disengage the 2 claws and remove the automatic light control sensor.

67. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL PIN



(a) Remove the 2 <G> screws and 2 instrument panel pins.
